Alfa Romeo Launches GT 1300 Jr Editions of the Giulia & Stelvio

Revered by the youth movement that swept through London in the ’60s, Alfa Romeo’s GT 1300 Junior is undoubtedly one of the most beloved models of its era and remains an icon within the Stellantis subsidiary’s timeline. Now, the Italian marque is reviving the spirit of the beloved Bertone-designed beauty with the new Giulia and Stelvio GT Junior special series.

The 2022 Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stevlio GT Junior editions both are based on the Veloce trim tier and are draped in the iconic “Lipari Ochre” color. Its brooding gold sheen takes inspiration from the color seen on the classic coupe, and it still looks tremendous in this modern guise. As far as specs are concerned, the new cars see a considerable performance boost over the 89-horsepower output of the original 1300, with each of these models boasting options of a 210-horsepower 2.2L Turbo diesel engine or a 280-horsepower 2.0L Turbo petrol rendition. On to the upholstery, both feature meticulously stitched black leather seats, each of which is embellished with GT Junior stitching for further confirmation of these special editions’ heritage.

While many await their upcoming Tonale, the concept SUV that made its debut back at Geneva in 2019, these limited-edition Italians will surely satisfy those who are eager to hear what has been in the works at Alfa Romeo — even if the brand hasn’t yet revealed the release dates for the GT Junior editions of the Giulia and Stevlio.
