Though the entire automotive industry seems to be shifting toward electrification, there are still plenty of tuners out there that are throttling up the horsepower of combustion engines. One of the most prominent tuners is American standout, Hennessey Performance, which can’t seem to help itself when it comes to creating next-level powerful cars. The tuner has a formidable lineup of behemoth automobiles, all of which boast eye-popping horsepower, torque, and top speeds. Hennessey is adding yet another stalwart car to its portfolio with the new Venom 1000 Mustang.

On its own, the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 offers impressive power and performance capabilities, but the beauty of tuners is that they’re never satisfied with the factory specifications of cars, even if they are inherently impressive. The folks at Hennessey took the already capable engine of the GT500, which boasted 760HP and 625lb-ft of torque, and augmented it to a staggering 1,000HP and 850lb-ft of torque. Granted, this beast needs E85 fuel in order to reach the maximum 1,000HP, but the fact that Hennessey could throttle its horsepower and output by that magnitude is nothing short of astounding.

These augmentations come courtesy of a slew of engine enhancements. The Texas tuner upgraded the GT500’s supercharger belt, high flow fuel injectors, anodized billet fuel rails, and intercooler cooling brick, to name a few. Other notable upgrades are an improved transmission calibration and a flex fuel engine calibration to give drivers the option of using flex fuel to maximize the engine’s performance.

From a design perspective, the Venom 1000 retains the classic design elements of the Shelby GT500, however, it does sport Hennessey’s iconic exterior badging as well as Venom 1000 exterior badging. The Hennessey Venom 1000 upgrade is available for only the 2020 – 2021 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500s. Hennessey hasn’t released pricing information for the Venom 1000, but you can inquire about the car on its website.
