The influx in popularity of modern, off-road-capable production vehicles has also resulted in a resurgence of interest in classic turnkey off-roaders. One lesser-known vintage offering from this segment is Fiat’s Panda 4×4. Penned by Italdesign, the Panda first debuted in 1980 and still remains in production to this day. While the model is currently on its third generation, it’s the second-generation Panda — which was first introduced in 2003, one year before winning the coveted “European Car of the Year” award in 2004 — that’s the most sought after. And one of these second-gen 4x4s has just surfaced for sale.
Powered by a 53-HP 1,108cc engine mated to a manual transmission, this 2003 Panda specimen rides on an upgraded, larger wheel and tire set that’s paired with an up—specced McPherson suspension setup. While largely stock, the interior of the Panda has been treated to custom Alcantara upholstery throughout, while the roof is now equipped with a two-piece ski rack. This ’03 4WD example also comes adorned in a custom two-tone Ferrari-inspired paint job that leans into the model’s monicker, with dark “Abetone Green” on the upper half of the body and rims and “Ice White” on the lower part of the car.
Offered through Spain’s Autosalon Valencia, this 2003 Fiat Panda 4×4 — which has 92,000km (~57,166 miles) on the odo — has an asking price of €18,900 (~ $21,260).
