Blitz Moto Debuts A More Refined 2nd Gen Of Its BMW-Based Black Dot Build

They say practice makes perfect, and while the statement might be just a tad hyperbolic, it’s hard to argue with the logic, as increased familiarity with an activity and prolonged esposure allow one to slowly hone their abilities and skill set over time. And that appears to be what’s happening with the latest one-off two-wheeled work from France’s Blitz Motorcycles, who, after previously completing a blacked-out and neon glow-accented R80 RT-based street scrambler, have returned to the drawing board to deliver a Black Dot Mark II.

Now armed with two more years of experience, Hugo Jézégabel and Fred Jourden — the latter of whom founded the Parisian customs outfit in 2010 — set about crafting an even more refined retro-futurism-inspired airhead build. Constructing the project around a 1992 BMW K75 donor, the Bavarian-built standard was first treated to a complete top-end build before receiving a slew of cosmetic and performance upgrades. This includes a one-off subframe, custom hand-worked tank, a three-into-one Hattech exhaust, a NOS monoshock made for the R100 RT, custom rear-sets, and fully bespoke 18″ machined billet wheels shod in Heidenau rubber and capped off with wheel disc inserts. The build’s LED-backlit, Blitz-branded spark plug covers and the bracket that now mates a new K&N pod filter setup to the stocker’s airbox were both created via 3D printing. The icing on the cake, however, is undoubtedly the Mark II’s green LED under glow kit, green LED ring and dual projector headlight, and its incredibly idiosyncratic seat, a notched vinyl leather item inspired by the furniture seen in space-themed ’80s era sci-fi flicks.

Based on the vast improvements in both the project’s level of finish and overall execution, we’re very much hoping that Hugo and Fred over at Blitz Moto will treat the world to a Black Dot Mark III.
