Founded and headed up by Jonathan Ward in 2006, ICON 4×4 is a world-renowned customs shop that’s had an enormous influence on modern customs culture, with ICON playing a pivotal role in introducing the restomodded classic truck genre that’s become wildly popular over the last few years. Headquartered out of Los Angeles, ICON got its start building Toyota FJs, though six years after its inception, it introduced its second offering with the BR — ICON’s take on a classic Ford Bronco restomod. In a little over a decade, the SoCal shop has completed 100 BR builds — a feat that it’s now celebrating via a one-off build known as the ICON Bronco 100.

Known as the “BR100” for short, the project started life as a 1974 Ford Bronco, though has since been heavily modernized, hugely bolstering the donor’s comfort and on and off-road performance without hugely altering its appearance. In place of the donor’s original 3.3-liter six-cylinder engine, the BR100 has been fitted with Ford’s latest generation 5.0 Coyote engine. Tuned to 430hp, the fuel-injected aluminum block V8 sits under a custom ICON cover and has been paired with an automatic four-speed overdrive transmission and a custom ceramic coated stainless steel exhaust system. The Bronco’s performance has been further optimized through the addition of Wilwood and Brembo braking hardware, Dana and ARB air-locking differentials, tunable sway bars, and a sport coil-over suspension setup with FOX shocks and Eibach coil springs.

Now equipped with ICON’s New School Design Package, the exterior of the build has been hit with a Cactus Gray livery — a paint option that’s offered on the new Ford Bronco — before being treated to a custom front steel bumper with integrated winch and LED auxiliary lights, a full-size rear-mounted spare, LED head and taillights, bespoke “ICON BR #100” badges, and a set of ICON’s own custom New School wheels. Created through a collaboration with Spinneybeck, the cabin of the Bronco 100 features rugged, low-maintenance leather upholstery throughout and equally-durable textile seat inserts, plus Dakota digital gauges, a Bluetooth stereo, a hidden infotainment display, a Vintage Air HVAC unit, bespoke laser-cut stainless steel and machined black aluminum trim elements, and a one-off ICON three-arm steering wheel, shifters, and pedal-set.

While it appears the Bronco 100 build is already spoken for — if it was ever even for sale — ICON 4×4 is currently accepting BR commissions starting at $200,000. More information can be found on the shop’s website.
