Standing as the best-selling motor vehicle in history with well over 100,000,000 units purchased since its debut in 1958, the Honda Super Cub is an immensely popular commuter bike with an efficient and reliable engine and a classically-styled appearance. Despite its rather unimposing visual design, Eak and the rest of the team at K-SPEED have managed to put menacing a spin on the eighth-liter runner, beefing up the scooter to deliver what’s been dubbed the “COMBAT CUSTOM.”
First debuting in prototype form back in June, the COMBAT CUSTOM is a full-custom build based on the Honda Trail 125 — also known as the Hunter Cub and the CT125. The Honda’s silhouette has been radically altered through the addition of a completely redesigned tail cowl and rear fender combo and an Art Deco-inspired, streamliner-style front fender. What’s more, the front end of the machine has also been treated to a partially-sunken circular LED headlight, relocated instrumentation, and low-profile chumps-style single-piece handlebars that have been capped off with a truncated windscreen-equipped cowl.
In typical K-SPEED fashion, the Hunter Cub sports a slew of components from the shop’s in-house Diablo parts catalog including its black leather seat and reverse cone muffler. The wheels on this small displacement bike have also been fitted with a set of aero-disc covers before being wrapped in a set of sawtooth tread-pattern tires. Rounding out the custom is a new wrap-around license plate bracket, a set of knurled foot pegs, Motogadget m-Blaze Pin micro-LED indicators, and a “K-SPEED CUB” badge that denotes each units serial number.
Available for order now as a ready-to-ride turnkey vehicle, the Honda Trail 125 “CT125 COMBAT CUSTOM” by K-SPEED has been priced at $10,525 (including tax and shipping). Offered in White Edition and Black Edition versions, the CT125 COMBAT CUSTOM will be limited to only 100 units worldwide.
