Vollebak’s Innovative Thermal Camouflage Jacket Boasts 42 Graphene Panels

Vollebak is one of the fashion space’s leading innovators, as its catalog only gets more and more outlandish with the addition of each new piece. Well, the British techwear label’s state-of-the-art Thermal Camouflage Jacket paves the way for a new form of style that we literally haven’t seen yet.

Moreover, the unique piece of outerwear intends to serve as the closest thing we’ve seen to an invisibility cloak — that’s right, they exist outside of the Harry Potter universe. Unsurprisingly, this next-level jacket took years of research and collaboration, having come together with Coskun Kocabus, a revered professor at the University of Manchester, which the label touts as “the home of graphene.”

Compositionally, the front layer of the jacket features 42 individually controllable graphene patches, each of which is composed of over 100 layers of pure graphene. Ultimately, this controls thermal radiation on the surface without altering its core temperature. Each patch is programmed to emit various levels of thermal radiation, allowing it to blend into various surroundings and not even show up on infrared camera forage. Looking forward, Vollebak hopes to intensify its latest innovation as it plans to bolster its technology and scale the size of graphene pixels down, allowing you to blend in with all your surroundings.

While the cutting-edge Thermal Camouflage Jacket is yet to hit the market, it’s safe to say that it’s one of the most impressive pieces Vollebak has put forth, which says a lot. Read more about the brand’s strive toward invisibility on its website.
