Victorinox has been crafting Swiss Army Knives for more-than-130-years, and in that time has produced an enormous range of Swiss-made multi-tools, each geared towards different applications and uses. Starting in 2010, the company began churning out small runs of special Damascus-bladed SAKs known as the Damast Limited Editions.
And for 2024, the brand is continuing this ongoing tradition with the debut of its latest limited production release, the Victorinox Farmer X Alox Damast Limited Edition 2024.
The Basics
Coming on the heel’s of last year’s Ranger 55 Mic Damast Limited Edition 2023, the Farmer X Alox Damast Limited Edition 2024 marks the 15th addition to Victorinox’s annual Damasteel Limited Edition Series. Spanning 3.7” in length, standing at 0.7” tall, and clocking in at 0.9” wide, this limited edition multi-tool tips the scales at just 3.8oz.
Anodized Alox Scales
In place of Victorinox’s usual signature red Cellidor scales, the Farmer X Alox Damast comes cloaked in a special set of Alox scales. Sporting a waffle pattern, these model-exclusive hand scales have been decked out in a dark brown anodized finish. The show-side of the SAK’s handle also features a monochrome Victorinox badge while the opposite side has a plaque inlay reading “2024” and featuring each unit’s production number.
115-Layer Damascus Blade
The Farmer X Alox Damast’s dark brown Alox scales only represent one of the SAK’s main highlights, with the other being its main blade. Coming in at 60 HRC on the Rockwell hardness scale, this limited edition multi-tool’s main blade consists of a Hakkapella pattern item courtesy of Damasteel. Pairing beautifully with the brown-anodized waffle-pattern Alox scales, this blade is comprised of two different powder-metallurgy steels carefully worked, folded, and forged into 115 layers. This is also the same proprietary steel used on other ultra-premium Damascus models such as various Benchmade Gold Class knives and The James Brand’s limited edition Barnes knives.
Suite Of Tools
The Farmer X Alox Damast comes loaded with a total of 10 tools and functions. Alongside the aforementioned Hakkapella pattern blade, the thing also features a reamer, a punch tool, a wood saw, a can opener, a bottle opener, a 7mm screwdriver, wire strippers, and a keyring. Additionally, the 3mm screwdriver found on the regular Farmer Swiss Army Knife has also been jettisoned in favor of a set of folding scissors. While they do use a slip joint setup, none of these tools are locking.
