In the 1950s, Victorinox decided to evolve the Swiss Army Knife formula that they invented in 1897, swapping their staid cellidor thermoset plastic material for hardened anodic oxide aluminum. Dubbed Alox, the handles eventually made their way to nearly all of the brand’s knives and multi-tools, and have been made in countless colorways by now.
Since 2015, Victorinox has been releasing these annual Alox limited editions — Steel Blue kicked things off, followed by Orchid Violet, Olive Green, and others — turning what was already a cult-favorite material into a full-blown collectible series. These are the three Alox SAKs for 2026, all in Glacial Blue…

The Pioneer X Goes Glacial
Starting with the 93mm workhorse, the Pioneer X has been a go-to for those who want classic SAK utility without the bulk. This year’s Glacial Blue rendition keeps things the same with its nine integrated functions including scissors, can opener, bottle opener, and the essential large blade. The aesthetic has been upgraded with the embossed, anodized aluminum that Victorinox has been perfecting since the original Pioneer debut in 1957.
The Alox scales real durability advantages over plastic handles, with the added benefit of a slimmer profile that still maintains serious grip. At 3.3oz and 3.7″ closed, it gives you plenty of utility while still disappearing in your pocket when you don’t need it.

Classic SD: Keychain Royalty
The Classic SD might be Victorinox’s most ubiquitous model, and for good reason. At 2.3″ closed and 0.6oz in weight, it’s the knife that can hide on your keychain but is helpful when you need scissors, a nail file, or a small blade. The Alox treatment here transforms what’s typically a plastic-handled novelty into something you’d actually want to show off.

The Evoke Is A Different Beast
Not your traditional Swiss Army Knife, the Evoke a dedicated folder with a locking 3.7-inch drop-point blade, thumb stud, and paracord lanyard. Think of it as Victorinox’s answer to modern EDC knives, but with Swiss precision and build quality baked in. At 6.6oz, it’s got some heft, and the one-hand opening plus blade lock make it more task-oriented than its multi-tool siblings.
The Evoke joined the limited edition lineup in 2024, replacing the Hunter Pro that had been part of the trio since 2021. It’s a departure from the classic all-SAK formula, but sometimes you just need a really good knife instead of a multi-tool.
