The North Face Taps Its Iconic Base Camp Material for a New Lunch Cooler

There are few brands trusted and relied upon more in the outdoor clothing and gear space than The North Face. The Northern California-based company helped usher in a new way of thinking about style when it comes to durable travel bags. In 1978, it debuted the Base Camp Duffel, meant to withstand the harshest conditions, whether brought on by man or nature. Today, it takes the iconic Base Camp mentality and applies it to our most underappreciated meal of the day.

Previously used for its flagship backpacks and duffel bags, The North Face’s proprietary Base Camp material has been given to the new Base Camp Voyager Lunch Cooler. Available in five colorways — purple, black, white and gold, blue, and gray — and sporting bronze zippers with black pulls, this new food storage container is not just the best-looking polyester cooler on the market, but one of the most durable. What’s more, the brand’s large logo on the front declares this glorified lunch box as a fashion statement as well.

Built to be water-resistant and protect against abrasions, The Base Camp Voyager fabric consists of 300D recycled polyester tarpaulin with a TPU laminate. The zippered main compartment holds up to 7L of food and drinks, with light insulation, and sports an additional mesh pocket built into the lid for additional separation. Along with the carrying handle on top, the cooler comes with several loops on the side for clipping onto your belt loop or backpack for any hikes or climbs.

Along with the Base Camp Voyager Lunch Cooler, The North Face has also debuted its slightly-larger Base Camp Voyager Roll Top Lunch Cooler. The smaller, lunch box-style version is available now on the company’s website for just $55.
