Jeep’s trademark has landed on just about every piece of gear imaginable over the year, and not all of them have been winners. But when a collab actually digs into the brand’s 1941 origin story instead of just borrowing the logo, it’s definitely worth a second look. And that’s exactly what’s happening with the ICECO x Jeep APL35 Limited Edition, a dual-zone portable fridge freezer wearing full WWII surplus garb.
Fatigues Fit for a Willys
The whole aesthetic here traces back to the 1941 Willys MB, the beloved military workhorse that started the entire Jeep lineage. The exclusive “41 Green” finish is a direct homage to that original olive drab, and it looks perfectly period-correct against the APL35’s boxy aluminum shell and black corner bumpers.
Genuine hide wraps the grab handles, riveted and embossed with both brands’ logos. Meanwhile, matching straps drape over the front latches.
Even the rich brown accents have a backstory. Each one references the axe-and-shovel pioneer tool kit strapped to many original Willys models.
Two Zones, Zero Ice
Underneath all of the WWII aesthetics, it’s still ICECO’s proven APL35 we all know and love. This means you’re still getting 37 quarts split into two independently controlled compartments (27 liters and 8 liters, to be exact). The whole idea here is to run one side as a fridge and the other as a freezer, with a SECOP compressor pulling temps anywhere from 68°F down to a frosty -4°F.
And because the body is aluminum rather than plastic, the whole thing weighs in at just 32 pounds.
Max and Eco modes balance speed against power draw, a Bluetooth app handles remote temperature control, and a lid suspension system keeps the top propped while you dig around. It also runs off 12/24V DC in the rig or standard AC at home, and the compressor carries a 5-year warranty.
