Ever since Opinel debuted their No.1 model knife in 1897, we realized that diminutive blades could offer some real value aside from novelty. While that early Opinel was mostly used for cleaning fingernails and doing very light tasks, the current EDC landscape has encouraged more innovation than ever before. WESN arguably started the micro boom in 2017 with its 2.25-inch Microblade with a 1.5-inch blade that could do some serious cutting.
But now there’s a new EDC knife in town, dubbed the Pinner from a company aptly called Small Carry. They claim to have the world’s smallest pocket knife, but we love it for how it doesn’t shy away from premium features.

The Numbers Don’t Lie
At 3cm closed (1.18″) and 4.3cm open (1.69″), the Pinner pushes miniaturization to its limits while keeping a 11.5mm cutting edge (0.45″). That’s not much real estate, but for daily packaging duty, tag removal, and light cordage work, it’s more than capable. The CNC-machined components ensure tight tolerances throughout, and the non-locking mechanism reportedly clicks into place with enough authority to keep the blade secure during both storage and use. Small touches like jimping along the blade spine and contoured thumb/finger placement points show that Small Carry thought through ergonomics despite the scale.

Four Ways to Carry
Small Carry is launching the Pinner in four distinct configurations, letting you choose your balance of affordability and materials. The base Steel edition pairs a steel handle with a stainless blade if you want something straightforward. The Titanium model swaps in a lighter, more corrosion-resistant handle while keeping the steel blade. For those who want blade performance, the Damascus option upgrades to that classic rippled steel with its superior edge retention. And if you’re going all-in, you can combine both premium materials in one with the Titanium Damascus option. Each variant shares the same dual-keyhole design, with one aiding single-handed deployment and the other mounting securely to your keychain. The total weight has not been specified in any of the configurations as of yet.
