Triple Aught Design & Todd Rexford Team Up on a TAD Edition RUT V4 Multi-Tool

Created by renowned knife designer Todd Rexford, the RUT — or “Rexford Utility Tool” — is an ultra-pocketable and compact yet thoroughly utilitarian EDC multitool that was first introduced nearly a decade ago. Now in its fourth generation, this brilliantly-designed multi-tool has not only been lauded by everyday carry enthusiasts but has also caught the attention of other elite gear purveyors in the EDC space such as Triple Aught Design, which has now partnered with Todd Rexford to deliver a limited run of TAD Edition RUT V4 multi-tools.

Like the regular V4 model, the TAD Edition RUT is made in America from 6AL4V titanium and features the latest iteration of the multi-tool’s wrap-around puzzle piece construction, an updated lock, and heat-anodization treatment. Triple Aught Design is offering several different versions of the RUT V4, producing a single variant with milled topographical lines and TAD branding, as well as offering the latest RUT in raw titanium, black, or OD green color options — all of which are treated to a stonewash or Cerekote finish and are decorated via a contrasting, laser-engraved silver and gold topo design. Further separating the TAD Edition models from the regular RUT is the use of Triple Aught’s milled 3D fullers.

While gaining some aesthetic flair, the TAD variants still retain the normal RUT V4’s immense functionality and utility, with an integrated pry bar, P38-style can opener, hex bit holder, bottle opener, flathead driver, and replaceable, locking utility blade. Because all Rexford Utility Tools are made by hand in small batches, they tend to sell out quickly and can be extremely difficult to find, making this even more impressive TAD Edition lineup all the more desirable.

Available now in extremely limited numbers, the Rexford RUT V4 TAD Edition is priced at $200 for the laser-engraved models and $215 for the milled version.
