It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Osprey, the sustainable backpacking brand, was first founded in Santa Cruz, California, as it is a city surrounded by nature from every corner. Though ultimately moving its headquarters over to Colorado, the brand has not left behind its outdoorsy roots in the slightest. Today, the manufacturer aims to change the game with its pair of UNLTD packs, as Osprey looks to provide a bolstered pair of hiking backpacks unlike any it’s crafted before.
The latest additions to Osprey’s catalog are the UNLTD Antigravity 65 and UNLTD Airscape 68. By implementing Osprey’s new 3D-printed FitScape Lumbar with Carbon DLS tech, each of these packs provides the optimized cushioning, ventilation, and anti-slip protection needed when out on the trails. In addition to this unique, waste-reducing construction method, each bag also features an autolift system rounded out with Osprey’s Fit-On-The-Fly hip belt, which distributes the pack’s weight evenly for efficiency’s sake.
As far as the AntiGravity 64 goes, it boasts a 7075 aluminum anodized frame composed of both stainless steel and aluminum, looking to provide an incredible performance range thanks to its flexible fit. It also features a clamshell compression system for seamless access. On the other hand, the Airscape 68 is designed around a high carbon stainless steel frame that cooperates with its thermo-formed, polycarbonate frame sheet to help provide back support by distributing the pack’s weight. Rounded out with a convertible, removable 8L lid and optional flapjacket for extra protection, this option provides a more traditional, body-hugging feel.
Each backpack utilizes its own titular advanced suspension method, and both are constructed with Double rip 210D fabric with ultra high molecular weight polyethylene content for lower weight and heightened durability. Osprey’s UNLTD Antigravity 64 and Airscape 68 are both available now on the brand’s site for $700 each.
