Nearly two decades ago, Nike ACG released its shore-friendly Watercat silhouette, a water shoe made with a strap-constructed upper all held together by a convenient lace collar. This design was a formidable step forward in terms of Nike’s strive for sustainability; now, the shoe’s colorful revival aims to do more of the same, albeit with an entirely new construction.

The modernized take on this innovative shoe, the Watercat+, boasts a somewhat uncanny resemblance to similar footwear silhouettes we’ve seen from other outdoor brands, namely KEEN, but that shouldn’t force you to overlook the Watercat+. Instead of the textile straps made prominent on its predecessor, Nike ACG swapped them out for a breathable bungee-like material that wraps around the foot. A set of leather panels and trusty mudguards for enhanced elemental protection neighbor this eye-catching addition. Meanwhile, the shoe retains its original lace collar for easy on-and-off access.

Moving away from its upper and down to its sturdy outsole compound, ACG implemented a set of trusty treads to ensure stability and traction on any terrain. As far as colorways are concerned, the forthcoming release will be available in the pictured shade of orange and black, as well as Nike’s signature ‘Court Purple’ palette. If your spring and summer outdoor gear could use a touch of color, these will surely come in handy upon hitting the shelves.

While there is no set release date or pricing on Nike ACG’s Watercat+, expect the silhouette to appear on the brand’s website in the coming months.
