Filson Applies Its Rugged Signature Constructions To a Dog Gear Collection

For the last 125 years, Filson has been producing hardwearing and dependable garments and gear for loggers, laborers, and outdoorsmen. Though it still produces quality workwear items, the Northwestern heritage brand has more recently been focusing much of its efforts on recreational outdoor clothing and accessories. And with so many outdoor enthusiasts being dog owners, it only seems natural that the company would tap into the pet-gear market with an expansive range of kit made specifically for man’s best friend.

Comprised of 17 items in total, this collection includes a variety of regular and puppy-sized leashes, collars, and harnesses made from signature Filson constructions such as nylon and bridle leather. There’s also a dog coat that’s modeled after Filson’s workwear vests and crafted from oil finish Shelter Cloth and lined with Mackinaw Wool and double-layer suede cotton Moleskin. The biggest item in the collection is the Large Dog Bed, which features a quilted-top antique Tin Cloth cover, a removable and washable baffle insert, and embroidered air-release eyelets.

The collection also features an assortment of smaller items and accessories. This includes several stuffed animal chew toys, collapsible Tin Cloth dog bowls, a stoneware dog bowl, a bag of Filson dog treats, and a retrieving toy made from an FDA-approved food-grade polymer — the latter of which was actually developed and created in partnership with scientists from Auburn University and was designed to mitigate occlusion of a dog’s breathing passage.

The Filson Dog Collection is available now, starting at $20 for the dog treats and going up to $425 for the large dog bed.
