Spelunking, AKA the act of cave exploration, can be incredibly dangerous — even if the cave system you’re exploring is well-documented and -mapped. Add water into the equation (meaning you’ll need an air tank with a limited supply of oxygen) and you’ve compounded the risk even more. Still, there’s something alluring about the idea of heading into the depths, where most other humans fear to tread. It’s this very act that has inspired this week’s everyday carry loadout, done up in an appropriate all-black color scheme. In fact, we’ve taken the name of this cave diving-influenced collection of pocket gear directly from the underwater cave system of the same name in Quintana Roo, Mexico. For those interested, Ox Bel Ha is actually the longest documented underwater cave system. And it’s so expansive, in fact, that it ranks as the 4th largest known/explored cave system in the world — wet or dry. Whether you’re a genuine cave diver with a taste for solid pocketable EDC gear or you just like all-black-everything (as we do), this EDC pocket dump is for you.

Bottega Veneta Intrecciato-Embossed Leather Cardholder
Embossed with Bottega Veneta’s signature “intrecciato” weave, this Italian cardholder wallet puts a tactile spin on the front pocket wallet that’s as pleasing to look at as it is to feel between your fingers. It also has enough card slots, in conjunction with a large central cash pocket, for all your cards and bills. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it does put a bit of spice on it.
Mr. Leight Cooper S Sunglasses
While it might not be immediately apparent, the Cooper S Sunglasses you see here were designed specifically for NYC living — which explains, to a degree, their handsome metropolitan styling. Of course, looks aren’t everything — which is perhaps why Mr. Leight has these shades meticulously handcrafted with great care in Japan. It doesn’t hurt that the lenses are framed by titanium accents, either.
