Everyday Carry: Chopper

There are few ways to feel more connected to the road than aboard a motorcycle. It’s such an alluring draw, in fact, that there are people who live their lives spending every possible moment crisscrossing the highways of the world aboard a two-wheeler. However, spending that kind of time on a bike poses some unique challenges — including the question of what to do about your everyday carry. Security in transit is the name of the game when it comes to your biker-friendly EDC loadout, so nothing falls out of your pockets and onto the highway as you hit the road. And while you could feasibly stash some stuff in bike-mounted storage or in a backpack, you’ll probably still want to have a complement of gear handy — that way you don’t have to dig through bags every time you make a pit stop. It’s with this in mind that we’ve put together this week’s EDC loadout. If you’re a big-time biker, this pocket dump is for you.

Zippo Eagle Lighter

As far as lighters go, there’s nothing quite as reliable (and staunchly American) as a Zippo. And while you can’t go wrong with any of these classic flip-top lighters — which all come with lifetime warranties — this one is special for its distinctive brass relief artwork. Perfect for when you want to light up a cigar, cigarette, or just start a campfire, you can’t go wrong with this windproof lighter.

Case XX Hobo Knife

Case is one of the best all-American knifemaking brands around, and they’ve been in business since 1889. And while their entire catalog is worth consideration, people that spend a lot of time on the road (and off the beaten path) might appreciate this particular knife. Not only does it have a gorgeous bone handle and a useful stainless steel knife blade, but it also has a folding fork and knife, as well — making it perfect for the self-sufficient wanderers of this world.

Red Wing Trucker Wallet

Originally designed for, you guessed it, long-haul truckers, the trucker wallet has continued to have popularity amongst bikers for numerous reasons. Take the Red Wing Trucker Wallet you see here, for instance. It’s made from a gorgeous combination of top-grain leather and brass, it was designed to hold large quantities of cash (ideal for those that want to stay off the radar), and it even has a wallet chain attachment point for added security (especially on the road). And, if that’s not enough, it was also made right here in the USA.
