At this point, Chaco and Huckberry teaming up on a new pair of outdoor-ready sandals have become an annual occasion, and we’re not complaining! To no surprise, it’s that time of year again, as the famed footwear manufacturer and Austin-bred retailer have released another joint effort worth talking about in the Forest Floor Collection.
Functionally, each pair of Z/1 sandals offer the same level of support and stability as provided throughout Chaco’s catalog. These elements come courtesy of adjustable, high-tensile heel risers, an injection-molded lock bugle, and a proprietary LUVSEAT footbed, the latter of which was approved by a podiatrist, just in case you need some extra assurance. Most of all, though, these handsome sandals were crafted right here in the U.S.A. using nothing but polyurethane, polyester, and a signature ChacoGrip rubber outsole for optimized traction across any terrain.
As we said, Huckberry has been pulling these collaborations off for the past six years, and each time it’s managed to churn out an even more stylish spin on one of Chaco’s most popular designs in the Z/1. With each release, both brands tend to take inspiration from sort of outdoor element, with one of the more recent examples being a pair of Chillos sandals doused in deep shades of blue in homage to the ocean. This time around, Huckberry steps away from the shore and into the wilderness, tacking on a mushroom-inspired twist to the timeless hiking sandal and the more errand-appropriate Chillos. Color-wise, the Z/1 “Morel” is available in Hunter Green and Teak, each of which is coated with a spring-ready mushroom print that is as ideal for the seasonal shift as they are to accompany the new Mario movie hitting theaters next week — how timely!
