A true adventurer knows few bounds. It’s ironic that modern-day camping innovations are actually intended to make it easier to enjoy the wilderness unrestrained. The first thing that comes to mind is the rise in rooftop car tents, an increasingly popular way to spend the night, especially when the ground is not suitable for a traditional tent. However, have you ever wished you could spend the night on the water…literally? Well, one brand out of Germany now makes it so you can sleep on your paddleboard — tent and all.

The company is called BAJAO and its new Cabin provides you with shelter so you can rest your head in places where it may not be allowed. Much like a rooftop tent, the Cabin gives you an option where the ground is not available. Fitting any paddleboard that’s longer than 11’6”, the shelter is nearly 10ft long in its own right and features air tubes that attach to your board. The unit also comes with side pipes that serve to stabilize your board for spending the night on the water (although the company advises you to avoid waterways and bodies that have waves). From there, the pipes are inflated with a kite pump in under 2 minutes to create a fully livable tent.

If you don’t want to be out on the water, the tent allows you to utilize your paddleboard on top of your car or even on top of boulders (like, if you want), with your board beneath you as a sort of padding. Packing down incredibly small for travel, the tent is made of lightweight polyester mesh with a flysheet made from 40D ripstop double silicone-coated polyamide. The waterproof floor of the tent is made from 150D Oxford polyester fabric.

BAJAO is currently funding its Cabin on Indiegogo right now, with early bird prices starting at $412 per tent.
