While the Flux Capacitor-enabled DeLorean time machine gets the most attention by far when it comes to Back to the Future vehicles, it’s not the only drool-worthy ride from the 1985 film. There’s also Marty McFly’s tricked-out Toyota Xtra Cab SR5 pickup truck. The unassuming high schooler lands his dream truck at the end of the film thanks to his altering of the timeline, and now you can own the same truck too — or, at least, a well-done facsimile.

A near one-to-one copy of the on-screen ‘Yota pickup is up for auction, and it’s a must-buy for movie buffs and Japanese pickup fans alike. The 4×4 truck, like the one from the movie, is a 1985 Toyota Xtra Cab SR5 — known as a Hilux in most of the world — and it’s been modified to look just like Marty’s. The most notable alterations are the added roll bar with KC lights and Smittybilt Bumpers with KC lights, along with the slick gloss black paint job. Like the movie truck, this pickup has a gray interior, a five-speed manual transmission, and a lifted suspension. It also, remarkably, even has the same license plate number as the original: 2BAK860. Even without the Hollywood connection, this truck would still be a desirable collector’s item, as the 1985 model year was the only version of the SR5 to have both a straight axle and electronic fuel injection.

Since this truck is a painstaking recreation of a movie legend, it comes with a number of Back to the Future-related extras, including a toy hoverboard, self-lacing Nike shoe replicas, a framed poster, Gray’s Sports Almanac, and a 1/10th-scale remote control replica of the truck. You can make this 1985 Toyota SR5 Back to the Future pickup yours by placing the winning bid at Mecum’s Chattanooga 2021 auction on October 15 and 16.
