Like the Chevy Blazer and Ford Bronco, the International Harvester Scout has become an increasingly popular platform for customization, with a growing number of specimens being transformed into off-roaders and restomods — a stellar example of which has just popped up for sale on eBay Motors.

Starting life as a 1972 Scout II, this matching-numbers project began with a complete tear-down and ground-up restoration before every inch of the 4×4 was meticulously built back up. Sitting in a reconditioned original chassis is the International Harvester’s factory matching-numbers 5.6-liter V8, along with its original 727 automatic transmission. Sanded down, pressure and acid washed, and sprayed with three coats of filler primer before finally being hit with dual coats of VHT Satin Black, the powertrain has also been bestowed with a top-shelf Holly Sniper EFI 2300 self-tuning master kit, K&N filtration, and a stainless-steel dual 3” THRUSH exhaust.

Riding on a set of satin black-finished 20” Method Racing wheels shod in Toyo 37” Open Country Radial MT tires, the build has also received an upgraded Power Brake front disc system, LED headlights set in the Scout’s original housings, a Hi-Flo power steering setup, rebuilt original Dana axles, and a state-of-the-art OTA Long Travel Premium Lift kit complete with KYB Shocks. Also benefitting from a complete restoration, the Scout II’s body has also been refinished an original factory code Burnished Gold Metallic-colord paint job that’s been laid down via a three-stage process. Sold with both soft and hard tops, this build has seen less than 100 miles added to it since its completion.

Located in Phoenix, Arizona, this 1972 International Harvester Scout II OEM+ Edition Restomod build is currently for sale on eBay Motors with a (BIN) price of $69,999.
