Alienware Revamped Their Aurora Desktop to Commemorate 25 Years

A whole lot can happen in technology over two-and-a-half decades, as we’ve seen dramatic changes in how we go about our daily lives in that relatively short timespan. As far as changes go, the progression in video games is a magnificent one, but what remains the same in that department is Alienware’s mission to provide the most optimal gaming equipment imaginable. Twenty-five years removed their conception, the Miami-bred Dell subsidiary is throwing their equivalent of a celebration with the reveal of their new-and-improved Aurora desktop.

With its initial release back in 2004, Alienware’s first rendition of their flagship desktop pioneered the liquid cooling movement, setting the benchmark among PC-centric gamers for years to come, as it still serves as the predominant go-to selection for e-sports tournaments with the highest of stakes. Now, they seek to provide no less. The Aurora’s conspicuous new design is a technical beauty, highlighted by honeycomb-shaped airways promoting immense airflow. Adding to that, it boasts a pair of pre-installed 120-millimeter fans to further its open-air design as much as it can. Additionally, higher-configuration models potentially ship with a third and fourth pre-installed fan. Subsequently, as with each previous generation, the latest model is 16% quieter when idle and an impressive 9% quieter when running CPU-intensive duties.

Alienware has already had themselves a pretty extravagant 2021, having unveiled their thinnest laptops in a joint effort with the keyboard specialists over at CHERRY MX. While pricing and availability details will not be revealed until later this fall, they’ve announced that their staple product’s latest rendition will be available in two colors: Lunar Light and Dark Side of the Moon, each of which come dressed up with hues of teal and purple.
