Not every watchmaker can find success going the crowdfunding route to promote its latest timepieces, but then again, not every watchmaker is Yema. Born in 1948 in France, the heritage brand had loads of success throughout the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s, with its racing chronographs landing on the wrist of one Mario Andretti. However, in recent years, Yema has been looking to Kickstarter when it comes to reissuing old favorites from its Wristmaster and Superman collections, which have yielded wildly successful campaigns. For its latest, the watchmaker has unveiled a pair of new timepieces that will host its new in-house manufacture movement.

Brought to you via the Superman Bronze CMM.10 Limited Edition, the Manufacture Caliber CMM.10 is a highly precise three-hand movement with 70 hours of power reserve, an accuracy of -3/+5 seconds per day, and high shock and magnetic resistance. Everything from the manufacturing of its components to the assemblies to the adjustments and final checks were performed in the brand’s Morteau workshop. Taking three years of R&D from Yema, the movement is of the quality found in a watch thousands of dollars more than these Superman Bronze pieces. However, like all of the watchmaker’s timepieces, these have exceptional perceived value and will only put you out a cool grand.

Available in either 39mm or 41mm case sizes, the watch itself — which comes in both gradient blue and lacquered black dial variants — is a reissue of a dive model from the 1970s. We’ve seen bronze-cased Superman models in the past but these versions are arguably the classiest of the bunch. Of course, a movement this impressive should be viewable through an exposition caseback, like it is here. Regardless, you’ll still get 300m of water resistance — and without a bulky case in the process.
