Fabian “Spartacus” Cancellara, the Swiss powerhouse who dominated stages and wore the coveted yellow jersey for 29 days across his career, returns to the Tour de France this year after nearly a decade away — not as a rider, but as the owner of Tudor Pro Cycling Team. To mark this homecoming, Tudor has crafted its fan-favorite Pelagos FXD Chrono in yellow for a 300-piece limited edition, akin to the pink Giro edition earlier this year or the original cycling edition from last season.

Carbon Evolution
Built on the FXD Chrono’s carbon composite construction, the watch stretches 43mm in diameter with a 13.2mm thickness. It’s finished in matte black and features integrated fixed lugs that carry over the military-inspired DNA that originally defined the FXD premise. The fixed lugs came about from practical demands of French Navy combat swimmers who needed bombproof attachment points.
Still preserving the Pelagos FXD’s stealthy looks, the difference here are the yellow accents found on the sub-dial rings and tachymeter scale, which provide just enough visual pop without overwhelming the design. It’s the difference between sporting memorabilia and a sophisticated timepiece that happens to reference cycling culture. The single yellow stripe running down the fabric strap is subtle enough to evoke those iconic yellow jerseys of the cycling race but without going full-Livestrong.

Cycling-Specific Features
While the tachymeter scales on racing chronographs refer to automotive speeds, this version nods to cycling with graduations suited to two-wheeled velocities. Two of the three rings around the dial go from 0 to 60 km/h, since those lower speeds are typical of these races. However, you still get upwards of 240 on the final ring.

Seven the Hard Way
Housed inside the case, the MT5813 movement, built on Breitling’s B01 architecture but refined with Tudor’s own specifications, delivers 70 hours of power reserve. Covering up the movement is a black-coated titanium caseback featuring engraved cyclists racing diagonally across the surface. This is also where we see the edition numbering for the watch. Number 7 has been reserved for Cancellara since it’s a significant number to the former racer. Completing the ensemble is a black single-piece NATO-style fabric strap with a yellow stripe.
