Nine years in, the Timex x Todd Snyder partnership has settled into a familiar rhythm. Snyder decides to raid the Waterbury archives to resurface something great, and the entire run sells out before you can even decide which color you’d like.
It happened with this spring’s 1976 Lexington reissue, and we’d wager it’s about to happen again. The latest drop pairs an old favorite with an old bracelet, and it’s called the Timex x Todd Snyder Marlin Mesh.
Straight Off the Runway
Snyder designed this one for his Spring/Summer 2026 runway show, La Buena Vida, a collection that’s steeped in 1950s Havana glamour. The Marlin, with mid-century roots stretching back to the 1960s, fits right into the theme.
And this isn’t some deep-cut Timex nobody remembers. The Marlin reissue is the watch that kicked off this whole partnership back in 2017, and it’s been the collab’s workhorse ever since. Snyder has iterated on it plenty over the years, but this release brings back two originals at once: the first-gen case and the fan-favorite bracelet.
Quartz Makes the Right Call Here
The case is the original recipe, 34mm of polished stainless steel capped with a domed acrylic crystal, the kind that goes all warm and glowy in direct sunlight. Inside, though, Timex swapped the hand-wound movement that powered the 2017 reissue for a quartz caliber.
The mechanical faithful will roll their eyes, and we get it. But those old hand-wound Marlins were fussy little things, and at $199, set-and-forget reliability is not a bad trade.
Now, the dials. Each sunray face carries applied Roman numerals at the cardinal points, a railroad minute track around the rim, and Snyder’s “TS” mark above 6 o’clock. The trio of colors (silver, aqua, and pink) takes its cues from the Mediterranean coast, and frankly, the aqua is bordering on unfair.
The Bracelet Is the Whole Point
The Milanese-style mesh first appeared on the second-generation Marlin back in 2018, and its return is what gives this watch its name. Steel woven this fine drapes over the wrist more like fabric than metal, which is exactly what you want under a linen cuff in July.
Timex fitted it with quick-release end links and a sliding clasp, so sizing takes seconds and requires zero tools. Flip the watch over and there’s a pry-off caseback engraved with the Timex x Todd Snyder marque, a nice little flex for a $199 watch.
