It’s rare to see a brand take their own successful reissue and immediately improve upon it, but that’s exactly what Timex has done with the Intrepid x Dimepiece Edition. Following the instant sellout of their faithful 46mm reissue earlier this year, the American watchmaker has partnered with Dimepiece’s Brynn Wallner to create something that addresses the one complaint everyone had: size.

Never Limited by Feedback
Timex might be one of our favorite affordable watch brands, but time after time we’re impressed with how quickly they respond to what people actually want. The original Intrepid reissue was a home run, faithful to JFK Jr.’s beloved ’90s dive watch in every detail. But at 46mm, it was intimidating for a lot of wrists, no matter how cool the provenance.
This collaboration with Dimepiece shrinks that footprint down to 36mm without losing any of the character that made the original compelling. Wallner’s approach has always been about making watch culture more inclusive, and this partnership delivers on that philosophy while keeping everything that worked about the Intrepid intact.

Smaller Case, Smarter Details
The cushion-style stainless steel case maintains its distinctive profile, and that wonderfully quirky 4 o’clock crown placement remains untouched. Where this edition gets interesting is in the refinements that go beyond just size. The stark white dial transitions to a warmer cream tone that feels more authentically vintage, while purple accents hit the seconds hand, 12 o’clock marker, and the signature INDIGLO pusher.
The original’s slide-rule bezel — useful for nautical calculations but admittedly niche — has been swapped for a straightforward 60-minute timing scale, enhancing everyday usability while keeping the overall design ethos.

Still All About That INDIGLO
Like the original reissue, this collaboration features Timex’s iconic INDIGLO lume, activated via that purple button on the left side of the case. INDIGLO remains one of the most effective illumination systems we’ve encountered. It literally backlights the entire dial rather than relying on applied lume or an offset LED bulb. Now it glows purple instead of the original blue-green.
Everything remains the same here, such as the 100m of water resistance, the synthetic rubber strap, the reliable quartz movement inside, and, of course, the superb retro styling.
