Micromilspec has been quietly building custom pilot watches for military squadrons since 2019, but the Norwegian brand’s first-ever commercial aviation timepiece didn’t come out until this week. The new Dualtimer finally brings their air force expertise to civilian wrists, marking a natural evolution for a company that cut its teeth creating bespoke watches for everyone from the Royal Norwegian Air Force to NATO’s AWACS program.

Eager Flieger
The 42mm stainless steel case shares DNA with last year’s acclaimed Milgraph but trades titanium for steel and relocates the crown to the conventional 3 o’clock position. At 12.5mm thick with 200m of water resistance, this isn’t your grandfather’s thin dress pilot watch. The chamfered crown guards and integrated case design feel decidedly modern, even if the overall aesthetic nods to classic Type A Flieger-style watches with its triangle-and-dots marker at 12 o’clock and Arabic numerals elsewhere.
The curved date window at 3 o’clock adds another layer of vintage aviation appeal, displaying three dates with a white triangle pointing to the current one — a design that echoes IWC’s former Mark XVII approach.

Where the Dualtimer really shines is in its approach to legibility. The dual-color Super-LumiNova X1 treatment separates local time (green) from GMT (blue) in complete darkness. The 24-hour rotating bezel follows suit with high-contrast white numerals, while maintaining the clean aesthetic without unnecessary color coding.

Swiss Precision, Norwegian Pragmatism
The Sellita SW330-2 movement provides reliable GMT functionality with a 56-hour power reserve. It’s an “office” GMT rather than a true pilot configuration, meaning you adjust the local time via the crown while the GMT hand tracks home.
Strap options include an integrated H-link steel bracelet or textured rubber in black, white, or orange. A quick-change system adds versatility, though we’d love to see more leather options down the line.
