At just under 42 years old, Hublot is definitely one of the young bucks in the Swiss watchmaking industry. However, its relatively young history hasn’t stifled its popularity, as the luxury brand has rattled off an array of hit, eye-catching timepieces. Hublot has become known for its oversized and sometimes ostentatious designs, but in a surprising turn, the brand has exercised a restrained approach in its latest release of 40mm Big Bang Integrals.
The latest batch of Big Bang Integrals comes in titanium, yellow gold, and black ceramic. Like many of Hublot’s latest timepieces, this new limited-release collection features an openwork design, allowing wearers to marvel at the technical details of the watch. The shrunken-down 40 mm diameter gives a more classic feel to the wearer, while its time-and-date functionality provides a much-appreciated level of simplicity that we don’t often get with Hublot timepieces.
Sporting a stealth-black ceramic construction with a satin finish, the All Black Integral is the only watch in this collection that has a limited release of 250 units. This ceramic, in particular, was made in an innovative manner to yield an almost scratch-proof build. The second watch of the collection sports a sleek grade-5 titanium construction that is also satin-finished, and rounding out the collection is the regal yellow gold Integral that undergoes Hublot’s proprietary “Art of Fusion” process to yield a nigh-scratch-proof construction.
Powering these resplendent timepieces is Hublot’s Unico 2 caliber movement, which has seen its thickness reduced by 1.3mm and sports a 72-hour power reserve. Additional features of the new Big Bang Integrals include a sapphire crystal, a water resistance of 100 meters, and an exhibition case back. Pricing for the little Big Bangs begins at $17,800.
