Though Hamilton is undoubtedly best-known for its military-style field watches, the company actually produces one of the most competent and well-spec’d diving watches on the market — at least on paper. With a case that’s built like a tank, and stellar movement, a protected crown, a helium escape valve, and a generous 1,000 meters of water resistance, Hamilton’s Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO should be a go-to choice for buyers looking for a truly dive-ready timepiece. Unfortunately, with a fully blacked out motif, the thing simply isn’t very legible — and only becomes less so as you descend beneath the waves.
Well aware of this reality, the company has now returned to the drawing board in order to deliver a more practical version of its 1,000-meter dive watch in the form of the new Hamilton Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO Auto Titanium.

Updated Dial
The biggest and most game-changing update to this sub-$2,000 dive watch is its new dial. Gone is the black-on-black scheme, and in its place is a black sand-textured dial juxtaposed via white numerals and minute markers and yellow hands and hour markers. This new dial layout offers far more contrast and legibility, making it much more conducive to actual diving use. Encompassed via a rotating bezel bestowed with white lume-filled markers running for its first 15 minutes, the dial has also been bestowed with new yellow-glowing grade X1 Super-LumiNova lume.
Still Dive-Ready
In addition to sporting a dial that allows it to better lend itself to use under the waves, the new version of Hamilton’s Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO Auto Titanium maintains its predecessor’s impressive spec sheet and diving capabilities; a helium escape valve, a beefy 46mm titanium case with a screwed-down construction, a heavily fortified crown, and a very generous 1,000 meters of water resistance.

Case & Dimensions
The entire watch is pieced together around an oversized 46mm-wide, 15.7mm-thick case with a thoroughly-shielded screw-down crown and matching screw-down case back. Crafted from brushed titanium, the case also sports four hexagonal screws with a mirror-polished finish. The new, non-PVD-coated case also comes paired with a new yellow rubber dive strap, complementing the same hue adorning the dial.
In-House Movement
Keeping the whole thing ticking is Hamilton’s in-house-developed H-10 movement. Boasting 25 jewels, this automatic movement offers a power reserve of 80 hours.
