If you’re going to put a spin on any G-SHOCK model, the 5600 is your best bet. Due to its timeless design and simplicity, the brand’s iconic digital watch is a perennial canvas for new editions and spin-offs.

One such firm that’s become a legend in collaborations is Bamford London, who has teamed up with the likes of TAG Heuer, Seiko, and Zenith over the years. Now, it’s put its stamp on a steel version of the Casio sub-brand’s square-shaped timepiece, and it’s one of the best we’ve seen.

Completing the Trilogy

This marks the third collaboration between G-SHOCK and Bamford, following previous releases on the 5610 and 6900 models. Where those watches established the partnership’s credentials, the new GM-5600BWD-1 refines the formula. Built on the metal-bezel GM-5600 platform rather than the standard all-resin variant, this version brings a more substantial feel to the table—both literally and figuratively.

The black ion-plated steel bezel provides the foundation, but it’s Bamford’s signature aqua blue that steals the show. Those vibrant accents appear on the dial markings, bezel lettering and outlines, and throughout the co-branded resin strap. The negative display (black background, light gray digits) amplifies the effect, making those blue touches pop even harder.

Bamford’s British Touch

George Bamford built his reputation customizing luxury Swiss watches with black DLC coatings and bold color work for clients who wanted something different. What began as aftermarket Rolex treatments evolved into official partnerships with luxury brands. Their G-SHOCK collabs show how well that ethos translates to more accessible territory.

Same Great 5600

Beyond the aesthetics, you’re getting the full G-SHOCK package you’d expect otherwise. The 43.2mm case size with 12.9mm thickness and 49.6mm lug-to-lug delivers shock resistance and 200m of water resistance with a five-year battery life. The bio-based resin strap includes quick-release mechanisms for easy swapping.

Functions include the standard 1/100-second stopwatch, 24-hour countdown timer, multi-function alarm, flash alerts, and white LED backlight.
