So often we discuss legendary dive watch models in hyperbolic fashion, with terms such as “iconic” and “groundbreaking” as common descriptors. And while many of these dive watches are iconic, few of them have as many endorsements from actual explorers like Doxa’s SUB 300 line. A favorite of the likes of Jacques Cousteau and Clive Cussler, the chunky model also happens to sport a distinct design language that has been maintained in the Swiss brand’s current lineup. However, these divers have always been notably large. Fortunately, Doxa has rectified this with its new SUB 200T, emphasizing more accessible dimensions and a wide range of colors.

In case you’re unfamiliar with Doxa’s flagship watch, here’s some history: First released in 1967, the SUB 300 was essentially the first true purpose-built dive watch available to the general public. Its chunkier, yet similarly designed cohort, the SUB 300T, came about in recent years as a play on the SUB 300 Conquistador from 1969. Even if you’re a fan of vintage-style divers, the 42.5mm SUB 300/300T will be rather large for your wrist, compounded even further by its steel weight. But now, Doxa presents the SUB 200T with proportions that won’t ostracize small-wristed individuals or those who just don’t like big timepieces.

Measuring 39mm across and featuring a 41.5mm lug-to-lug (down from ~45mm), the SUB 200T also comes in a plethora of dial colors — orange, black, silver, navy blue, turquoise, white, and a brand-new dark green — with either stainless steel rice bead bracelets or matching rubber straps. Almost all of the colorways come in both flat (“Iconic”) and sunray dial options, except for green and silver, which are only available in sunray, and white, which is only available with a flat dial.
