Back in 2019, EDC gear purveyor and tactical wallet pioneer Dango launched a Kickstarter campaign for a range of timepieces powered by Swiss movements. After hitting its funding goal in under 3 hours — and then proceeding to surpass that target by nearly 550% — the watches were released onto the market. They would all quickly sell out, proving there was a clear demand for Dango’s horological offerings. Fast-forward nearly-half-a-decade-later to today and the California company has not only restocked two of its fan-favorite references, but it’s also bestowed its range of timepieces with a series of minor tweaks and updates that ultimately result in an even better watch lineup.
Back by popular demand, the first of these two lightly reconfigured watches is Dango’s TK-01 Trek. Sporting a 45mm circular case design, the TK-01’s housing is crafted from top-shelf 316L stainless steel that’s water resistant down to 164’. Using 22mm lugs and quick-release spring bars, the case comes paired with an Italian leather strap with a stainless steel buckle and a design that utilizes wire-style loops for end links. Beneath a Sapphire crystal, the TK-01 boasts a dial layout that’s modeled after vintage automobile instrumentation and equipped with luminescent elements. Keeping the thing ticking is a Ronda Cal. 515-2 movement — a Swiss-made quartz motor that offers 45 months of life on a single battery. In total, the entire watch tips the scales at just 3.59oz, too.
The second of the two timepieces is Dango’s race-inspired CA-01 chronograph. Measuring 45mm across, the watch is constructed around a premium 316L stainless steel case that comes mated to a matching steel bracelet with H-style links. Water resistant down to 660’, the case features a Dango-branded crown sandwiched between a set of alloy pushers with waffle-face texturing — the bottom of which comes adorned in a red-anodized finish. Encompassed via a fixed tachymeter bezel and an inner chapter ring, the watch’s luminescent dial sits beneath a Sapphire crystal and features sub-dials at 6, 9, and 12 o’clock. Additionally, the chronograph also runs off of a single 1.5-volt 384 battery that provides 4.5-years of life before needing to be replaced. The battery also powers the CA-01’s Swiss-made Ronda Cal. 3540.D quartz chronograph movement from the brand’s Startech movement range.
The Dango TK-01 Trek and CA-01 Chronograph Watches are both available now, with pricing starting from $225 and $475, respectively. And, if Dango’s previous horological drops are anything to go buy, these lightly redesigned references will likely sell out extremely fast — so be sure to act quickly if you want to get your hands on one.
