Big Idea Design Teams Up with RZE for a Pair of Ti EDC Watches

Over the last decade, Big Idea Design has been revolutionizing the everyday carry industry with its sleek designs on durable and tactile devices. With popular items such as its compact pen-sized Titanium Multi-Bit Driver and the handy NeoLucida optical aid, the Tennessee-based company is covering each corner of EDC one Kickstarter campaign at a time.

Now, for its 35th campaign, BID has partnered with RZE Watches to make the ultimate field watch, with functionality perfect for everyday carry and a minimalist aesthetic that lends itself to a fashion-forward ensemble. The Ti Field Watch, available in both solar quartz and automatic variants, has a case made from grade 2 pure titanium and features a simplified dive bezel with a straightforward timer — just a lone hashmark at 12 — that keeps its practicality subtle, all while accomplishing a unique style in its own right.

A see-through sapphire case back highlights the Seiko-made SII NH36A movement on the automatic, while the solar edition boasts an Epson VS43 that charges when exposed to sunlight or strong artificial lighting. Both watches are water resistant to 200m and contain a super bright Swiss Super-LumiNova lume for better vision in the dark. Each variant is available in both stonewashed and DLC black colorways, with both coming with two easily-changeable nato straps. The stonewashed colorway is accompanied by a green nylon strap and a brown Horween leather band, and the DLC black by black versions of the same straps.

With RZE, Big Idea has teamed up with a watch company that understands durability. The Singapore-based microbrand has amassed a loyal following in only a few years due to the tough titanium construction of its watches. Together, they’ve already reached over three times the pledge goal this time around, with a campaign that ends next month. Both Ti Field watches will go into production this May, with an August shipping timeline.
