Since launching in 2015, Autodromo’s Group B has been paying homage to the legendary, unbridled, and some would say infamous Group B rally racing that took place from 1982 until it was banned in 1986. The watch has evolved and branched out over the years — and even lasted longer than the namesake racing category itself.
For the latest iteration, the American watchmaker has teamed up with Mobil 1 for what might be the sleekest take on its most classic three-handed design.
From Fixed Lugs to Integrated Bracelets
The original 2015 Group B used a titanium capsule sitting inside a stainless steel chassis — mimicking how those wild rally cars mixed exotic materials with metal subframes. Early versions came with fixed lugs for single-piece NATO straps in harness-inspired colors. Series 2 brought an integrated bracelet while keeping that bi-metallic architecture.
Back in Black
This Mobil 1 Pegasus Edition marks the brands’ second partnership after their sold-out Monoposto collab. At 39mm, the case keeps that lightweight titanium core wrapped in steel, but now everything’s finished with a black DLC coating. It’s more tactical than the early neon-accented models that referenced Day-Glo rally instruments.
The stealthy black dial pulls from vintage tachometers and is surrounded by a silver-white minute track, hour markers, and handset for contrast. It features Mobil 1’s red Pegasus at 6 o’clock, plus a red-tipped minute hand and matching chapter ring accents. Along with the hands and indices, the Pegasus is also lumed. Lastly, the watch is powered by a reliable, affordable Miyota 9015 automatic movement.
