When it comes to dive watches, DOXA has built its reputation on bold, vibrant dials that stand out underwater. But what happens when you flip that script entirely? The new SUB 200 Dune, a 100-piece collaboration with Caribbean retailer Art of Time, trades DOXA’s signature bright oranges and aquamarines for the muted, textured tones of windswept sand dunes.

A Textured Approach to Time

The star of this release is undoubtedly the dial. Rather than a flat, monochromatic surface, DOXA has crafted a sand-grain textured finish that shifts between sun-bleached taupe and warm bronze tones. The gradient effect creates visual depth that mimics actual dunes under changing light — lighter in the center, darker at the edges.

The applied markers get filled with beige Super-LumiNova to match the sandy theme, while the hands receive a black treatment for contrast. The unidirectional sapphire bezel continues the earthy palette with its black insert and sandy-beige luminous markings.

Caribbean Connection

The collaboration with Art of Time brings geographical specificity to this release. The St. Maarten-based retailer has worked with DOXA before on the SUB 200 Azure, which celebrated Caribbean waters. The Dune takes the opposite approach, focusing on the beaches rather than the sea — though the caseback tells a different story.

The solid steel caseback features a laser-engraved map of the Caribbean, with the ocean rendered in vivid blue through laser-induced oxidation. This permanent coloring technique ensures the blue won’t fade over time, creating a literal representation of the “sand and sea” concept that inspired the watch.

Familiar Foundation

Built on the proven SUB 200 platform, the Dune maintains the series’ accessible 42mm stainless steel case with its comfortable 46mm lug-to-lug and 13.8mm thickness. The domed sapphire crystal and 200m of water resistance make this the brand’s go-to daily diver over their iconic SUB 300.

Inside, the reliable Sellita SW200 automatic movement provides 38 hours of power reserve. Lastly, the watch comes with both DOXA’s signature beads-of-rice bracelet and a black rubber strap.
