This Ferrari F40 Owned by the Mercedes F1 Team’s Part-Owner Is Up for Grabs

Toto Wolff’s envy-inducing car collection features countless unfathomable supercars, as we’ve seen the Mercedes-Benz Formula 1 team’s part owner auction off several Ferraris in the past, including a rare Enzo. Now, the former racer has listed a 1990 Ferrari F40 for sale through the U.K.-based auto dealership Tom Hartley Jr.

While the 32-year old likely could’ve been sold as it was, Ferrari and auto aficionados Autofficina Bonini Carlo S.r.l. gave the F40 a full-on overhaul, ensuring it retains every last bit of exceptional performance and looks. Moreover, this Red Book Classiche-certified example is highlighted by red racing seats, an original chassis, body, engine, and transmission. This sense of authenticity shouldn’t be much of a surprise seeing as there are less than 3,500 miles on it (3,440, to be exact).

This particularly remarkable red coupe is one of 1,315 ever produced, not to mention one of only 27 examples delivered brand new to Spain upon its release, somehow managing to make it even more exclusive than it was without the additional piece of trivia. After all, the Pininfarina-styled model was the fastest and priciest Ferrari upon first hitting the road in 1987, boasting a maximum output of 477hp. For authenticity’s sake, the mesmerizing lot is accompanied by complete documentation, including a dedicated history file, warranty and service supplement books, and a leather wallet.
