In case you’ve been living under a rock, odds are you know spatial audio is the way of the future for music streaming, as Apple has been one of the many names spearheading that campaign for the past couple of years. Now, working alongside the Cupertino giant is another major West Coast manufacturer in Sonos, who just officially revealed its latest pair of home speakers, the Era 100 and Era 300, the latter of which is the brand’s first to deliver the popular immersive technology to a home setting.

Starting in order with the lesser 100, which serves as a direct upgrade to the Sonos One, with its mightily streamlined silhouette, modern design language, and, more importantly, size-defying sound. By implementing next-gen acoustics via two angled tweeters and a large mid-woofer, Sonos bolsters the small-scale speaker with a rich stereo-like experience you wouldn’t expect from a single device.

Moving on to the brand’s game-changing Era 300, highlighted by an undeniably unique hourglass silhouette that’s as mesmerizing as it is eye-grabbing. Packed with a set of six Class-D digital amps and one driver per (four tweeters and two mid-woofers), the 300 dictates a significant shift for Sonos, as its spatial audio and Dolby Atmos support apply to Apple Music’s and Amazon Music Unlimited’s respective libraries, allowing subscribers to experience their music in an entirely new light at a fraction of the typical lofty asking price. What’s most notable about these models is their connectivity specs, as each new release offers seamless Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support in addition to a USB-C-powered line-in connection, deeming it ideal for both audiophiles and streaming buffs.
