Samsung seems to be doubling down on micro RGB TVs as of late. After announcing a wide range of sizes last year, from 115″ down to 55″, the brand has now blended the advanced LCD display technology with their knack for making televisions that look like other household fixtures. Taking after the art piece-looking Frame TV, Samsung has now debuted the Timeless Frame TV, which looks more like a window.
A DESIGN REBORN
The Timeless Frame is actually a callback to Samsung’s 2013 Timeless Gallery design, which first attempted to marry high-end displays with architectural aesthetics. But where that original concept felt a bit contrived, this 130-inch behemoth (R95H model) pulls it off much better. The screen appears to float inside a massive frame that appears like you’ve installed a giant window Even the audio gets integrated into the frame itself, tuned specifically to match the screen’s scale so the sound doesn’t feel disconnected from what you’re watching.
THE MICRO RGB ADVANTAGE
Generating color independently at the pixel level, micro RGB uses microscopic red, green, and blue diodes instead of traditional backlights. As a result, Samsung’s claiming 100% coverage of the BT.2020 wide color gamut (what they’re branding as Micro RGB Precision Color 100), which is the widest standard used in modern TVs. VDE certification backs up these accurate color reproduction claims.
The 130-inch model specifically gets Samsung’s Micro RGB AI Engine Pro, along with Color Booster Pro and HDR Pro processing. These systems use AI to lift shadow detail and refine contrast in real-time, maintaining color accuracy across both bright highlights and dark scenes. There’s also a proprietary Glare Free coating to minimize reflections, which at this size is practically essential.
SOFTWARE AND SMARTS
Samsung’s Vision AI Companion does more than just basic voice control, offering conversational search and recommendations. For instance, sports fans get AI Football Mode Pro, which independently adjusts commentary, crowd noise, and background music. HDR10+ Advanced and Eclipsa Audio round out the premium features, while Tizen OS now promises seven years of updates.
