Samsung just unveiled a slew of gadgets, but few grabbed as many eyes as its premium new smartphone. Serving as the tech giant’s revamped flagship, the Galaxy S23 Ultra boasts tech specs that might convince you to put the iPhone down.
The razor-thin gadget is the only option in Samsung’s S23 series to offer upgradable RAM options, allowing you to choose between the standard 8GB or boost it to 12GB for extra power. But, of course, that’s not the only significant difference between these models, as the Ultra’s camera sets an entirely new standard for Samsung. This model fully sets itself apart from its peers thanks to a 200-megapixel primary sensor and enhanced image stabilization, paving the way for pristine results whether recording video or snapping photos. Additionally, the rear camera array is fitted with a similar makeup as previous models, including its 3x and 10x telephoto.
All that said, the new release does have its setbacks, as the S23 Ultra’s selfie camera pales in comparison to its predecessor, with a notable drop from 40MP down to 12MP. Regardless, its undeniably crisp rear cameras should make up for it. Compositionally, the S23 retains nearly every element it had to offer last year, including its 6.8″ OLED with a rapid-fire refresh rate. For added performance, though, the new release features a specialized Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy processor to help ensure top-of-the-line operating and battery efficiency across the board.
Barring any carrier deals, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is available to pre-order today starting from $1,250 through Samsung’s webshop. The new smartphone is expected to ship out beginning February 17.
