This Retro-Styled Nintendo Radio Is Every Gamer’s Dream Gadget

Between the 1980s and now, Nintendo has showered its sea of fans with a sprawling number of popular games, home consoles, and iconic handhelds. It’s no surprise that these products have left a mark on countless gamers, and one of them has designed a retro-futuristic radio concept to show their appreciation.

The aptly-dubbed Nintendo Radio comes courtesy of Aditya Pandharpure, an Indian designer with a passion for streamlined products made evident with a mere glimpse of his portfolio. By fusing elements of the NES, Game Boy, and Switch, this unique gadget seamlessly captures the epitome of Nintendo’s history, right down to its unmistakable color scheme.

While it features a gray speaker grill on one side, the opposing end has a quartet of red-colored AM/FM buttons and a blacked-out D-pad, evoking the Japanese tech giant’s old-school look from top to bottom. This concept is equally impressive from a technological standpoint, as it features a digital display to make selecting your preferred station and a traditional antenna to fully finish off the retro look.

While the days of console controllers without analog sticks are long gone, concepts like this are a prime example of how influential old-school gaming was. Take a better look at the nostalgia-inducing Nintendo Radio concept on Aditya Pandharpure’s Behance profile.
