McIntosh Labs Debuts a Pair of High-End Wireless Loudspeakers

McIntosh Labs has been doing things the right way for well over half a century now — since 1949, to be exact. With a wide catalog of speakers and festival-powering amplifiers, they’ve oft-managed to set the standard from both a design and sonic standpoint, and they’re doing it again with the most modern capabilities imaginable. Introducing their new pair of high-end loudspeakers, the RS150 and RS250.

For starters, both of these new releases offer modernized capabilities across the board, featuring the ability to stream seamlessly via Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, and Google Chromecast. As far as the upscaled RS100 model goes, the RS150 is an immensely powerful piece of equipment for its size, with its woofer boasting 30 watts of power and a driver that measures in at just over 5″. Additionally, it features a removable grille if you want to glance at its inner mechanics. Moving on to the bolstered RS250, it’s packed with a whopping 650 watts of power transporting sound through a pair of 4″ x 6″ drivers, a couple of 3/4″ tweeters, and a quartet of 2″ midranges, all combining to ensure that its sonic capabilities are out of this world. While turntable connectivity is a bonus, another major draw is the RS250’s compatibility with televisions, allowing owners to fully immerse themselves in their entertainment of choice via ARC.

The revered New York-based audial wizards have simply done it again and have showcased their prowess in a state-of-the-art fashion. Those interested in the new speakers can place orders through authorized McIntosh dealers and expect them to start shipping out in the next couple of months, with prices listed at $1,200 for the RS150 and $3,000 for the RS250, respectively.
