Garmin’s vívomove Trend Is the Brand’s First Wireless-Charging Smart Watch

Wireless charging has become commonplace nowadays, as most technological progressions tend to once Apple gets its name involved. And while the brand’s flagship smartwatch typically rules the space, Garmin’s vívomove Trend serves as the tech brand’s first-ever Qi-compatible model.

Seeing as we’ve seen this new-age technology implemented into numerous devices with a similar amount of accessories to match, many would say this advancement is more overdue than it is an innovation; nevertheless, it’s a pretty big step for Garmin. Ironically enough, the Trend does not come equipped with a Qi charger, as you will not have or purchase one beforehand to take advantage of it right out the gate. However, the smartwatch is packaged alongside a USB-C cable, another upgrade compared to previous vívomove models.

When it comes to battery life, Garmin’s latest can last as long as 5 days when using smartwatch mode. Other features include the addition of Garmin Pay for contactless payments, a sleep score tracker, and all-day stress tracking, a trio of elements you expect to find in a smartwatch of this caliber. As expected, it retains its standard blood oxygen monitoring and heart-rate tracking. Design-wise, the Trend is based around a sleek stainless steel bezel and a silicone band for comfort’s sake.

The vívomove Trend is available in a quartet of colors on Garmin’s webshop for $300.
