Rivaled only by the likes of SUUNTO, Garmin currently stands as one of the world’s most eminent smartwatch producers, having released its first models — with the Forerunner lineup’s 101, 201, and 301 — back in 2003 before spending the subsequent two decades delivering an ever-growing collection of increasingly advanced smartwatches. And Garmin’s nearly 20 years of smartwatch development have now culminated in the release of the all-new Instinct Crossover Hybrid GPS Smartwatch.

Designed for active lifestyle individuals who are partial to the look of a traditional analog timepiece but still require the functionality of a state-of-the-art smartwatch, the Instinct Crossover features Garmin’s new RevoDrive analog hand technology, which sees a Super-LumiNova-coated analog handset positioned over a digital smartwatch display. The watch is equipped with 24/7 health and sleep monitoring as well as round-the-clock activity tracking, GPS functionality/tracking, and a suite of onboard sensors. This includes multi-GNSS support, back-tracking routing, an altimeter, a barometer, and a compass, plus a VO2 Max, Pulse Ox2, Fitness Age, Training Status/Load/Effect, HRV Status, and Recovery Time systems, sensors, and tracking.

Heavily resistant to shocks, waterproof to 10 ATM, and built to MIL-STD-810 standards, Garmin’s incredibly rugged Instinct Crossover also packs almost a month of battery life on a single charge while in smartwatch mode — and over 110 hours while utilizing GPS functionality. What’s more, Garmin is also producing a special Solar Edition of the Instinct Crossover that harnesses the power of the sun to deliver up to 70 days of battery life while in smartwatch mode, as well as a Tactical Edition Instinct Crossover that gains tactically-focused features such as night vision compatibility, a dedicated stealth mode, dual-format GPS, and a kill switch, just to name a few.
