Uniqlo’s affordable yet stylish basics are established as some of the best you can get, but the label’s collaborations with other brands and beloved IPs (especially with anime and other Japanese brands) are equally impressive and are never phoned in. Uniqlo recently tapped the NY-based design house Engineered Garments to collab on a trio of PUFFTECH jackets, and although the label is based in NYC, the founder (Daiki Suzuki) sees Japan (and the States) as a big inspiration for many of the brand’s designs. Now, the duo is presenting us with the PUFFTECH Short Blouson, Utility Jacket, and Hooded Coat.
Kicking this collection off, we have the PUFFTECH Short Blouson, a lightweight bomber-inspired jacket with ribbed sleeves and a unique patch pocket on the lower right side. It’s made with a blend of polyester and rayon in the shell, filling, and lining, and like the rest of the collection, it comes with exclusive Engineered Garments logo buttons and a woven name tag. Following the Blouson, the PUFFTECH Utility Jacket has a more technical look and design, featuring a cotton shell and polyester lining, along with dot buttons on the front and back patch pockets.
Closing this collection out, it also features the PUFFTECH Hooded Coat, a polyester parka-style piece with an oversized hood, Heat of Absorption padding, and a water-repellent finish to keep you dry. Every piece in this collection comes in a handful of monochromatic colorways like black, navy, or dark grey, each making for a moody urban look. All three of the jackets are equipped with Heat of Absorption padding and onion quilt lining.
The UNIQLO x Engineered Garments PUFFTECH Collection, including the PUFFTECH Short Blouson for $129, the PUFFTECH Utility Jacket for $149, and the PUFFTECH Hooded Coat for $179, will be available starting November 10th online and in stores.
