Stüssy came together with Converse just a couple of months ago to put an old-school spin on the latter’s beloved Chuck 70s, and the iconic, California-bred streetwear brand is already back for seconds. However, its latest collaboration is changing things up from a color, composition, and branding perspective.
While the previous collab maintained the traditional black-and-white color palette, Stüssy’s latest makeover is based around an entirely pink upper that simply screams summertime. As an added bonus, the upper is composed of an unfinished hemp canvas with unvarnished foxing to give it the perfect blend of surf-inspired style and a sense of sustainability.
While a tonal All-Star logo does appear on one side of the sneaker, the main draw here is Stüssy bringing its inimitable Surfman graphic that has been an emblem of the brand’s allegiance to wave catchers since it first hit the scene. No matter how simple the outcome may be, it seems as though any of Stüssy’s collaborations with Converse (or Nike in general) have yet to disappoint.
Whether you’re a surfer or simply love wearing pink, this is a great shoe to close out the summer. The Converse x Stüssy Chuck 70 ‘Surfman’ will be available via Nike SNKRS on September 1 for $110. As the same applies to anything released on the Converse parent company’s app, we recommend acting fast.
