Snow Peak is one of those truly classic outdoor companies that’s managed to stay on the cutting edge of style and function for decades. Not only has the mountaineering outfit been around for over 60 years, but it’s also been helmed by three generations of the same family. There’s no shortage of innovative pieces from Snow Peak, but you may be surprised to learn that the label has yet to drop a GORE-TEX collection. That all changes with the release of the Snow Peak GORE-TEX Rain Series, a collection of waterproof apparel designed to handle rainy days and wet conditions.
Each piece in this collection is made with 100% recycled polyester, and the fully waterproof GORE-TEX Rain Jacket kicks it off, boasting a two-way adjustable hood and a drawcord around the waist to lock in heat. Other details include hook and loop cuffs, and waterproof zippers for the two breast and two side pockets. The GORE-TEX Rain Pants complete the ensemble, using the same recycled polyester construction (also treated with a PFC-free DWR finish) and equipped with seam sealing throughout to keep wind and water at bay (bolstered by waterproof zippers with pull tabs). You’re also getting an integrated adjustable belt, and plenty of storage with two zippered side pockets and two zippered back pockets.
This collection also includes some new headwear, like the GORE-TEX Rain Hat, which has a super classic hiking look thanks to the wide brim and adjustable chin strap, with a drawcord around the headband to customize the fit. Finishing it off, the GORE-TEX Rain Cap has a 5-panel design and can be adjusted with an integrated buckled strap.
The Snow Peak GORE-TEX Rain Series is available to shop now through the label’s site, including the GORE-TEX Rain Jacket for $500, GORE-TEX Rain Pants for $375, GORE-TEX Rain Hat for $120, and GORE-TEX Rain Cap for $90. Each piece in the collection is also available in three colorways: Black, Coyote, and Foliage.
