Electric cars are buzzing right now, and manufacturers are clamoring to one-up each other with each new build. Rivian, a mainstay in the industry, released the R1T pickup in 2021, which quickly became one of the most rugged EVs on the market. They’re also partnered with Amazon to produce electric delivery trucks in an effort to curb emissions. This isn’t anything surprising coming from an EV manufacturer, but the clothing line Rivian just dropped undoubtedly is. Made in collaboration with Greg Jackson, a former New Balance designer, the “In Case of Adventure” clothing collection is designed for outdoor adventures, with shirts, jackets, shorts, and pants ready to go anywhere.

Kicking off the tops, we have the water-resistant Adventure Jacket that’s DWR-finished with a packable hood and waterproof front zipper. The odor-resistant Adventure T-Shirt is sustainably made with TENCEL fiber (a material sourced from wood pulp) and Seawool (made from recycled plastic and oyster shells). Also sustainably made, the lightweight Adventure Shirt is made with ECONYL regenerated nylon that has a four-way stretch, wicks moisture, and dries quickly. We can’t forget about the Adventure Tech Cap; it’s made with the same material as the Adventure Shirt, along with a brim insert made from recycled fishing nets.

The bottoms in this collection include the Adventure Shorts, which are also made with the same lightweight ECONYL fabric from the shirt and hat, and feature a whopping six pockets and an exterior locker loop at the center back. For the Adventure Pants, Rivian’s recycled ECONYL fabric blend comes together in an outdoor-friendly package, with a partly elastic waistband and drawcord to get a personal fit. While Rivian’s gear isn’t as popular as its vehicles, this collection shows that the label is willing to go the extra mile to create quality, sustainable stuff, even if it’s clothes.
