Reigning Champ’s catalog of casual outerwear has been touted as some of the athleisure world’s finest, and its latest collection hopes to be one of the space’s most sustainable, too. Working alongside the team at Western Hydrodynamic Research, a premium surfing label, RC has unveiled The Repair Project.

This new collection is the result of hand-repairing damaged pairs of Reigning Champ sweats, which gives each piece a meticulous, refined look that further goes to show how much the brand cares about maintaining its products’ integrity. The garments in question include a pair of the Canadian clothier’s staples: the midweight crewneck sweater and hoodie. Starting with the crewneck, it is available in either white or navy and crafted using the same plush terry material as its other sweatshirts.

Secondly, the hoodie is also made from french terry but delivered in a trio of colors, including the pictured Sierra and black options. Both pieces feature hand-embroidered details for a distinct touch that assures no two pieces are exactly alike. The Repair Project garners inspiration from traditional Japanese mending techniques, such as sashiko, a form of embroidery that promotes functional reinforcement in clothing.

Each of the pieces in Reigning Champ’s latest joint effort is limited to 100 examples, and they are available on the brand’s webshop starting from $250.
