After a long trail run, slipping on a pair of quality recovery slides should be part of your post-workout routine — trust us, you’ll notice the difference it has on your body. However, most recovery slides you see are little more than glorified flip-flops. That’s where Norda steps in. The Montreal-based running brand made a bunch of noise five years ago when they launched their first pair of sneakers, made entirely of Dyneema. The footwear favorite’s climb to the mountaintop is nothing short of legendary, and just recently they debuted their first-ever recovery slide, the 008.

Don’t let the absence of Dyneema fool you; these sandals are made with the same meticulous approach to construction as the brand’s running sneakers. For the 008, Norda has brought their own spin to the recovery slide, aiming to balance softness and support rather than just giving you a giant foam footbed to put your feet on, featuring a topo-inspired design. After all, stability is also key during recovery so your muscles don’t have to do more work than necessary. Instead, the slippers are made with a dual-density foam designed to support your arch while you walk.
Aiding not only the comfort of your muscles but the support of your whole body, the outsole gives you more traction and durability than that of your average recovery slide. It’s made with a bespoke Vibram Ecostep EVO, a recycled rubber compound with a topo-based lug pattern developed custom for the 008.

Possibly the best recovery slide on the market, the 008 falls in line with Norda’s Fibonacci-inspired nomenclature (with each number being the sum of the previous two) and follows the most recent release of the 005 trail runners released in March. Available in Sage, Oud, Hinoki, and Névé colorways, the monochromatic slide also sports the same stylish minimalism that the brand has become known for. Even branding is low-key here, leaving just an embossed Norda logo on the side of the foot.

Available now with a packable tote bag, the Norda 008 recovery slide is priced at $145 from Huckberry’s web store.
